Stellwagen has been playing since his mother introduced him to chess at the age of 7, his talent for the game quickly showed. Daniel is the youngest GM in Holland, a hard worker, uncompromisingly aggressive player who also has a penchant to the artistic side of chess composition.

The 21 years old chess player on the Dutch Chess Championship obtained (shared) 2nd place in 2003,2005, in 2007 shared first place. This year he obtains the second place at the Championship. Stellwagen stands for his Country in World Youth Championships every year. Naturally he plays for the Dutch Olympic team.

Daniel is an excellent player and nevertheless he is a fourth year Chemistry student.
