The 25 years old Armenian chess player Gabriel Sargissian won the Armenian Chess Championship twice (2000, 2003).

He was victorious at the tournaments of Reykjavik (2006), Dubai (2006) and Zafra (2007) at the Ruy Lopez memorial - 6,5/7 point with a TPR of 3021!

After this he took the first place at the 37th Chess Olympiad (10/11!).

At the European Championship Sargissian won 6,5/9 so his team obtained the silver medal last year. For us is his play interesting because he was Ács Péter's prime rival at the World Junior Championship in Athens where Peter finished first place in 2001.
